It’s all in our name
When I set up Connected Architecture in 2017, I knew I wanted to create an architecture practice founded on warm, meaningful relationships and on fulfilling the desires of busy professionals with families, like me, who needed their homes to multi-task and be both practical and beautiful.
This empathy-led approach has been further enriched through my partnership with Lynda Carroll, a Passivhaus-accredited architect whose range of experience and genuine commitment to sustainability bring added depth to our work.
The biggest lesson we’ve learnt from our combined 40+ years in practice is that successful design is born out of close collaboration between an architect and their client. People we’ve designed for have often told us they value the effort we make to get to know them.
By putting conversation at the heart of our process and actively listening to what clients need and want throughout a design project, we believe we have the edge in making our ideas work specifically for the individual – as well as more opportunity to demonstrate our skill, creativity and ingenuity.
As a female-led practice both with families of our own, we share a vision of how a home needs to flow and adapt, how emotive spaces can be, and a commitment to thoughtful, refined architecture that moves beyond aesthetics to intuitive daily living.

Empathy and trust built through listening mean we can take the lead, challenge a client’s thinking, and help open their mind to new possibilities in order to make their aspirations a reality.

“We really valued Bronwen’s advice and experience throughout the build… Communication was fundamental to driving the project through to completion on time and Bronwen managed this extremely well. As clients we always knew what was expected of us. We are very happy with the end result”

As well as listening to our clients, at Connected Architecture we also listen to the landscape and the people around us.
We’re rooted in our local environment, believing that fantastic design is underpinned by both sustainability and a sense of place.
We immerse ourselves fully in local planning policy and we love collaborating with other design professionals, building contractors and suppliers – building local networks that we know will benefit our clients and make a positive difference to the region.
This sense of conscious connection to all that really matters – people, place and planet – is what sets us apart.
We’d love it if you’d connect with us.
These are some of the awards we’ve won for our work.
